The last time I blogged about cycling was at the end of last summer. I had just finished my first 100k, at Ride For Karen. Then came winter, when I didn’t cycle at all, and so this summer I was so excited to be back on the road that I signed up for a 2-day, 200k Tour For Kids in August, plus the Ride For Karen once again. I’m busy fundraising for those–they raise money so that kids with cancer can go to camp–but before I can even think about those rides I have another new challenge I’ve signed on for: a 5-day, 350k group cycling trip in PEI.

I leave for Charlottetown this weekend to meet up with a group of women, most of whom I haven’t yet  met. I’m excited to get to  know new people, and of course I’m looking forward to lobster, mussels, oysters and, very likely, ice cream as we cycle from the western to the eastern tip of the island. When you’re burning hundreds and hundreds of calories a day, indulging is no problem.

What’ll it be like? I’m anticipating very sore legs, and awesome sleeps, each day. I’ll let you know how it turns out. (If you want to follow my daily updates on Twitter, I’m at @bonnie_munday) What challenge are you taking this summer?
