Before removing the acai from the package, hit it repeatedly with the blunt side of a knife until the acai has broken up into small pieces. Remove the acai from the package and place it in the blender.
Add the remaining ingredients to the blender, cover, and blend on high for 45 seconds (or until smooth). Note: Careful not to over blend as it will liquify your smoothie.
Using a spatula, pour into a bowl and top with desired toppings: fresh berries, banana slices, toasted coconut, chia seeds and granola.
