I generally prefer body wash for my morning shower—I’ve always found soap to be drying. But I’m trying to cut back on the plastics in my life, and body washes all come in plastic tubes and bottles, whereas bar soap has much less packaging, if any.

I’ve finally found the solution, thanks to Lush. They have a new Porridge Soap out that contains a blend of oats and orange juice, and it’s not drying at all—it actually feels soft when you rub it on your skin. It smells good—not too strong—and exfoliates gently. Porridge Soap is a new staple in my bathroom. (It retails for $5.95/100g.)
