I can hardly believe it, but our third issue is only a couple of weeks away from hitting newsstands! And I’m thinking it could be our best one yet. We’ve pulled together some great healthy recipes (Couscous & Squash Salad and Grilled Vegetable Gratin, to name just two), new fitness ideas (such as the latest spin on spinning and kettlebells), and look-good tips (for example, how to make sense of beauty product labels, and what to look for when buying a bra).

Those stories are a lot of fun to work on. But what I find most rewarding about putting together this magazine are the articles that help Canadian women (myself included!) make sense of today’s conflicting news headlines. In our September issue we have the definitive answer on whether antidepressants really work, a roadmap to HRT (hormone replacement therapy) so that women can decide once and for all if it’s something they should take—or avoid, and a piece about the pros and cons of visiting a naturopath.

To me, the most surprising one of the lot is our groundbreaking piece on viruses—I’d had no idea they could actually lead to obesity, heart failure and even cancer. After working on the article, I know that I will do what I can—within reason—to avoid viruses. If you want to do the same, make sure you pick up a copy of the newest issue of Best Health, which hits newsstands on August 4, or subscribe now online.

In the meantime, there should still be a few copies of our Summer issue left, so if you haven’t already, do check it out!
