Just when we’d started to forget about H1N1, along comes H3N2, the latest virus grabbing headlines as flu season officially sets in.

Unlike your average winter cold, getting caught with a case of the flu can have serious health implications. And this flu season is unlike ones we’ve seen in the past‘Ontario’s health minister has called it one of the worst in years, reports the CBC.

Despite the risks, some Canadians are still hesitant to get the shot, due to concerns about side effects.

"It is very important to get your flu shot. This is no time to be complacent," said Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s Associate Chief Medical Officer of Health, in a news release. "Influenza is a serious, acute respiratory illness that can cause lost time at work or school, a slow recovery and, in some cases, even hospitalization."
