Doctors in the Charité hospital in Berlin have built an open MRI machine that allows them to take images of a baby being born. The hope is to better understand why some women need cesarians when the baby can’t make it through the birth canal. The images in this video posted by Jezebel are pretty phenomenal to see. You can even make out the baby’s eyes as he/she (I can’t tell) travels down the birth canal. As our associate web editor, Alicia McAuley, put it, it was a brave woman who volunteered for this particular photo shoot.
