Looking for something to do this weekend? You could meet a professional gardener, get rid of the clutter in your home, try horseback riding, and participate in a charity walk for arthritis.

Meet a professional gardener

May 14 at 1 p.m.

Mississauga, Ont.

At the Indigo bookstore at Erin Mills Town Centre, television personality and gardening expert Frankie "Flowers" Ferragine will be signing copies of his first book Get Growing. The 352-page gardening guide is for green thumbs of all levels.

Get rid of clutter

May 14

Across the country

Get a head start on spring cleaning and donate any unwanted items to the National Garage Sale for Shelter. If you use the interactive map, you can find the closest participating Royal LePage office to drop off your items by May 13.

Go horseback riding

May 14, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

South Langley, BC

Check out the High Point Equestrian Centre and Clubhouse is hosting an open house with it’s brand-spanking-new 8,000-square-foot club house. Don’t forget to take a peek at the his and her steam rooms, yoga studio and tennis court. It’s a members-only facility, but the open house gives you the chance to find out about riding lessons and fitness classes.

Walk to fight arthritis

May 15

Across the country

The charity walk season has begun. And The Arthritis Society has organized a Canada-wide 1-K and 5-K walk on Sunday to raise money for arthritis research. Two cool things about the walk to note, however: One, if there’s not a walk in or close to where you live, you can still participate with its virtual walk program; and two, Tylenol will donate $10 for each of the first 2,000 personal stories about arthritis on walktofightarthritis.ca.
