I think starter kits or sets are a great idea for skin care’and they are a bit of a trend right now. For one thing, you get to try a regimen (typically a kit gives you enough for a month of daily use) before getting heavily invested in every single product, in case they all don’t score high for you. And obviously they’re perfect for travel if you’re already familiar with the products.

In June, Vancouver-based Éminence Organic Skin Care which uses organic ingredients from Hungary, is coming out with four Vitaskin starter sets ($58 each kit) targeted to different skin issues: Bright Skin for hyperpigmentation, Calm Skin for sensitive and rosacea-prone skin, Clear Skin for acne, and Firm Skin for anti-aging. In Bright Skin, the set includes cleanser, masque, licorice-root booster serum, and broad spectrum SPF 30.

And it’s nice to get a new makeup bag in the deal ‘ to give your purse a clean sweep too.
