An app designed to help you deal with the back and neck pain that’s associated with technology may seem counterintuitive but hear me out.

Straighten Up Canada is a free app designed by the Canadian Chiropractor Association as well as provincial chiropractor associations to help Canadians who suffer from musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. More than 11 million Canadians suffer from MSK conditions, and many of these are related to smartphone addiction. More and more young adults are even dealing with issues chiropractors are calling ‘text neck’ and ‘iPosture.’  However, it’s not likely that we’ll give up technology anytime soon. The Straighten Up Canada app will at least give Canadians the tools to deal with these issues, in a place that’s easily accessible – our smartphones.

Within the app, users will find 12 short exercise videos that require less than three minutes a day. There’s also information on common back-related problems like headache and hip pain and a search tool to help you locate the nearest chiropractor. You can download it through the Apple or Google Play store. Visit straightenupcanada.ca for more helpful tips.
