How Emilia Clarke’s Totally Doable Clean Diet Turned Her into A Khaleesi

Emilia Clarke plays one of the baddest babes on Game of Thrones, but her diet and workout routine is surprisingly a lot less ruthless.

The Emilia Clarke fitness program

What’s the secret to the Mother of Dragons’ poweress? Her diet and and fitness routine is totally doable. No, seriously.

Emilia Clarke revealed the program for her lean and mean physique, and it’s not exactly what you’d expect. In fact, the star says she doesn’t ever diet, and just eats “clean and lean,” following the Clean and Lean method, created by Bodyism founder James Duigan.

Clarke’s not the only buff lady in Hollywood that follows his plan either. Duigan counts supermodels Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Elle MacPherson and pop star Rita Ora as fans and followers as well.

How you can slay Clarke’s diet and fitness program, too

Duigan’s plan recommends eating to put the body into “the perfect state–clean of fattening toxins and lean as a result of a nourishing diet and regular exercise.”

He also says that there’s no specific “eat this or cut out this” way of eating and that “everyone is as different on the inside as they are on the outside.”

Luckily, for those of us who aren’t quite ready to live the Gwyneth-approved no-breakfast lifestyle, Duigan’s approach is a lot more doable.

The focus of Clean and Lean is health, and that when people focus on their health, the desired physical effects will follow: “Any transformation that happens in the body happens in the mind first.”

If you aren’t already drinking the Duigan Kool-Aid, consider this: He says the biggest mistake most of us are making is thinking we have to punish our bodies to see results. (Hear that, burpees?) He says people try to do too much too fast and end up injuring themselves…or worse, with an eating disorder.

The workouts focus on posture, balance and movement to try and correct the negative effects of our sedentary lifestyle.

So according to Duigan, just be good to your body and you’ll be riding dragons in no time.
