When I walked into Toronto’s Waxon Waxbar for a brow consultation, I was merely hoping that a pro would be able to groom my brows in a way that would at least make me look more awake. What I ended up with blew my expectations out of the water. You see, I have light brown brows that certainly aren’t as full as what’s on-trend right now.

I asked for The “Fendi” Brow (inspired by Cara Delevigne, pictured above). Waxon Waxbar’s Brow Specialist Shima Ghasemi suggested that we first tint my brows. By darkening the tiny hairs it would give the illusion of a fuller brow, and give her more to work with when shaping. After first applying some Vaseline to the skin around my brows, Ghasemi applied a tint and left it on for approximately three minutes before wiping my brows clean.

For shaping, I opted for threading, which only took about five minutes. I had been a wax-devotee until this point so threading was something new for me. I found it slightly uncomfortable but it was over quickly.

To finish up my new look, Ghasemi applied Waxon Brow Wow Duo in Brunette ($14 at waxon.ca). The tiny compact comes with two shades so you can blend for the perfect look. The trick is to first apply the pressed powder against hair growth with the angled brush of the Waxon Brow Brush ($15 at waxon.ca). Then follow by brushing with the direction of the hair. This ensures the brows look natural and not too neat.

The result? My brows have never looked better! I feel polished without even having to apply much makeup. I think this has become my new monthly beauty ritual.
